Mario Berta Battiloro - Trailer - Sogni nei cassetti

Mario Berta was the old beater that from 1926 realized gold leaf, thin as the wings of a butterfly. Today this unique reality in the world still exists only thanks to Berta- Menegazzo family, which is continuing the ancient trade inherited. The whole process, voluntarily never mechanized, is handmade in order to preserve the purity and value of gold 25 carats. In the historical workshop, gold, silver and other precious metals, are transformed into thin leaves, suitable to be applied in many different industries. It's amazing to learn what you can do with a gold leaf .. which are applied in the most diverse: from artistic and architectural heritage, to the food and cosmetics. But even more amazing is watching a reality, a workshop, a family, which blurs the boundaries of the concept of craft up to indicate to us the art to all effects. An art carried out over time and preserved in its originality only in the name of an intrinsic ideal of pure craftsmanship and hereditary. This "small size" documentary tells the story of Sabrina, Marino, Eleanora and Sara: the Berta-Menegazzo family from Venice.
